Recently, on the international stage

In 2006, Brigitte Hool made her La Scala of Milan debut as Poucette in Manon, by MASSENET produced by Nicolas Joël and conducted by Ion Miarin. She sang at the Offenbach Festival of the Opéra de Lyon with Laurent Pelly , conducted by Jérémie Rohrer and Benjamin Levy. Her performance was acclaimed by public and press alike. The festival was shown on several national t.v. channels and is still shown regularly on Mezzo. She sang Hanna Glawari, title role in The Merry Widow by LEHAR on a Swiss tour ; and Nadia in the same opera staged by Jérôme Savary and conducted by Cyrill Diederich at the Opera de Lausanne. In spring 2007, she sang at the Opéra de Nice in the leading role of Agilea in Teseo by HANDEL, in Gilbert Blin's stage production, conducted by Gilbert Bezzina, with the Baroque Orchestre de Nice. Nicolas Joël directed her again in Die Zauberflöte de Mozart, conducted by Claus Peter Flor at the Capitol de Toulouse. She sang at the Opéra de Lausanne the title-role in Amelia al Ballo by MENOTTI staged by Eric Vigié and made her debuts in Paris in 2007 in the same production. She sang Margerita and Elena in Mefistofele by BOITO, on a Swiss tour. She sang Die Vier letzte Lieder by STRAUSS with the Symphony Orchestra of Latvia. After the success of the Offenbach Festival Laurent Pelly re-engaged her as Pauline in La Vie Parisienne by OFFENBACH at The Opéra de Lyon conducted by Sébastien Rouland which was recorded for French national television.

In 2008, Brigitte Hool was invited for a recital at the Tonhalle of Zurich; she was again invited to the Capitol de Toulouse in the role of Zaida in Il Turco in Italia by ROSSINI. She sung the title-role in the Digest Opera La Traviata produced by the Avenches Festival. She was the guest of honour at the Festival St-Prex with James Vaughan at the piano. She sangBachianas

Brasilieras by Villa-Lobos with Gauthier Capuçon. She was Micaela in BIZET’S Carmen on a Swiss tour and again at the Opéra de Lausanne conducted by Cyril Diederich staged by Arnaud Bernard. She toured with this production of Carmen in October in Japan . In total she sang Micaela sixteen times in the one year in twelve cities.

In 2009, she has sung among others Eurydice in Nice, in Orphée et Eurydice by GLUCK, acclaimed as the “révélation du Festival". She has sung Zerlina in Don Giovanni by MOZART at the Avenches Festival on the Del Monaco stage conducted by Gianluca Martinenghi, and the title-role in La Périchole by OFFENBACH in Omar Porras's production in Lausanne . In May, she was in Brazil to sing among others "Vier letzte Lieder" by STRAUSS and Konzertarien by MOZART in a recital with the NEOJIBA, Bahia Youth Orchestra (which she supports because it gives to young people from favellasthe opportunity to learn a musician's profession thanks to Ricardo Castro's direction). She sang in a charity concert for children's families affected by cancer.

She has been invited to sing in Palermo in homage to Leo Nucci. She has also been invited by the tv-show « Musiques au coeur » by Eve Ruggieri with Felicity Lott and Jennifer Larmore. She will sing Celia in Lucio Silla by MOZART at the Opéra de Nice.

Her singing teachers and musical licences

After studying the cello, she obtained a singing Diploma and a Virtuosity of singing at the Conservatoire de Neuchâtel in Switzerland .

She was coached by Grace Bumbry at Salzburg .

In 2005, Brigitte Hool was selected by Mirella Freni for a prize of merit (funded by the European Social Fund) to study with her in Modena and honoured her

by asking her to join her to open the gala evening in memory of her fifty years career.

University Degrees

Brigitte Hool obtained a Licence es letters (B.A. degree) and a Diploma of Journalism at the University of Neuchâtel , for which she was awarded the Werner-Günther and L’Express prizes (best results of the Faculty and the University). In this period, she founded and conducted the University Choir of Neuchâtel which included up to 150 members performing in oratorio.

She has a Diploma from the School Yogakshemam.

She was recently awarded the Prize of the Opera singer of the year by the Swiss French Vaud
